The business also offers financial planning and advice through NAB Financial Planning, Godfrey Pembroke, Garvan Financial Planning, MLC Financial Planning and Apogee Financial Planning. In 2009, MLC & NAB Wealth made two strategic acquisitions:

  • Aviva's wealth management business in Australia, including Aviva's life insurance operations and discretionary investment platform, Navigator. The acquisition adds scale, efficiency and new capabilities to MLC's operations.
  • 80.1% of JB Were. Together with NAB Private Wealth, this will enable MLC to deliver an attractive wealth management offering for high net worth individuals.

Wholesale Banking

Wholesale Banking has more than 3500 people across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Working closely with the NAB's franchises in each region, Wholesale Banking provides clients with access to international financial markets and a range of specialised funding, investment, asset services and risk management capabilities. Advantedge comprises of two business streams, one providing Broker Platform (Aggregation) services and the other multi-branded (white label) lending for residential loans. 

White Label Lending - Advantedge’s White Label Lending business primarily provides wholesale mortgage products to mortgage managers who distribute these products to borrowers under their own individual brand. Advantedge distributes its loan products via a network of accredited mortgage managers. Advantedge acts as the funder and servicer of these loans.

As part of the National group of companies, the Garvan/MLC Financial Planning dealership has a well-defined business model and access to an extensive range of services to support the development of advice practices.

JANA

JANA is a leading investment consulting firm that was fully acquired by the National Group in December 2000. NAB Financial Planning AdviserPoint

NAB Financial Planning is the advice channel incorporating the National's salaried financial planners across both Personal and Business segments. Their secure AdviserPoint website provides planning information, tools and updates to support the delivery of holistic advice to clients.

National OnLine Investing

National OnLine Investing provides broking and share trading services to direct investors. The National OnLine Trading website provides clients with online trading of ASX listed shares and warrants, along with extensive independent company research and market information.

National Margin Lending

With National Margin Lending investors borrow against existing investments (ie. gear) to invest more, providing the potential for greater returns. Investment options cover a range of shares and managed funds. National Margin Lending has an Adviser website that gives advisers access to their clients' margin lending reports, as well as tools and general information.

Plum

Plum Financial Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of MLC Limited, provides integrated and innovative superannuation solutions for medium to large Australian organisations.

Your Super

The National Australia Bank Group Superannuation Fund provides superannuation for all full and part time National employees plus a retained benefits facility for past employees. The website enables employees to obtain general information regarding the fund. Employees can also log in to obtain specific information regarding their benefits and make changes to their details.

GlobalPlus is a credit card, from Bank of New Zealand, where Air New Zealand Airpoints are earned on credit card purchases and home loan balances.

The website provides information on the vast array of benefits offered by GlobalPlus, and allows browsers to apply for a GlobalPlus credit card fully online.

The home loan section of the web site is where you can find out about GlobalPlus Home Loans and access calculators that show how much you can borrow and how many Air New Zealand Airpoints can be earned on your home loan.

GlobalPlus members can also view credit card balances and details by linking through to Bank of New Zealand's own internet banking site.

Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recover

The Bank of New Zealand Kiwi Recovery Trust is a partnership between the Department of Conservation and Bank of New Zealand that works with individuals, communities and businesses across New Zealand.  The Trust's goal is to enable kiwi to flourish in their natural habitat, securing the future of our national icon for generations to come.

In the United States, Great Western Bank (GWB) provides consumer, business and agri banking to more than 300,000 customers. The bank has 125 branches located across seven states, mainly in the Mid-West agricultural region of the US, including South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
